Why Work With Me?
The dog behaviour and training industry is unregulated. Anyone can set themselves up as a dog behaviourist or trainer with no prior experience and often no qualifications.
I'm an ABTC registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Animal Training Instructor, meaning that I have been assessed and proved to have the in-depth knowledge AND experience needed to help owners and their dogs to resolve complex behaviour problems.
These qualifications also means most insurance companies are happy to cover any help I offer, making getting help cheaper for owners.
I am here to help you and your dog - with empathy, understanding and an individual approach tailored to your individual needs.
Stop worrying and start the process to a calmer, happier and well behaved dog. The sooner you start, the sooner it will happen.

Non-judgemental. Approachable. Kind.
Here For You & Your Dog
Every person and their dog are unique and have their own challenges and opportunities. As a behaviourist, I will take everything about your unique situation into account and ensure that your individual behaviour plan fits your and your dog's unique requirements.

About Me
Background
My life has been focused around animals, training and working with dogs for over 30 years. I have trained dogs in obedience, agility, fly ball and my collies have worked sheep. All I’ve ever wanted is to live with and work with animals.
My Animals
I share my life with my three beautiful border collies Gael, Flo and Ozzy, our cat Willow and my 18 pet sheep. My sheep are pets only and are never sold for meat.
Over the years my pets have also included alpacas, mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils & tropical fish.
Location
I live with my husband and animals on a 6 acre smallholding near Spalding in South Lincolnshire. We have built a wildlife-friendly environment and share our land with deer, foxes, badgers, owls and many other wild birds & animals.
Qualifications
MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour
I achieved my MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour, two years of in-depth study into all aspects of companion animal behaviour. I can identify the emotions & motivations behind problem behaviours and use this understanding to create successful training & behaviour plans that improve behaviour.
ABTC-Registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist
The ABTC (Animal Behaviour & Training Council) is an independent organisation that only registers trainers and behaviourists who have completed highly-regarded accredited courses and have proved through a rigorous assessment process that they have the skills, knowledge and experience to be able to carry out behaviour assessments and work with owners to resolve complex behaviours problems.
Full Member of the APBC
I’m a full member of the APBC, the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors. I am required to carry out a set number of hours of continuous professional development each year, and keep up to date with new research, training techniques and behaviour modification processes.
Being a full APBC member means that vets are reassured that in qualified enough to refer behaviour cases to me, and that many pet insurance companies cover working with me.

Rachel was marvellous at demonstrating techniques and explaining best practice. Her knowledge and service has been outstanding and I highly recommend.
Laura Cotterill
And Leo

Rachel has been nothing short of wonderful, we came to her looking for help with our puppy who was resource guarding & showing signs of aggression. I don’t know what we would have done without her, we can’t say thank you enough!"
