Dog Training

The content of my dog training sessions are completely up to you.  I'll ask you in advance what you'd like to cover and that's what we'll do!

New puppies: toilet training, puppy biting, sleep, settle, crate training etc.  And how to start off with all the life skills your pup will need to become a valued member of the family.

Adolescent dogs: from reactivity and loose lead walking to recall and wait.

Adult dogs: and if you need help with any general training issues in adult dogs, I can help with those too!

Puppy Training

My puppy training sessions are for puppies from 8 weeks to 6 months.  For breeders we can start even younger than 8 weeks. I travel to your home and help you and your puppy in person, or I can help by video call if preferred or if you live further away.

It's important to note that these sessions do not replace puppy classes, which are important for your puppy's socialisation.  My puppy sessions are more to cover anything you are having issues with and are essentially your chance to ask me anything you need to know about raising puppies.

Training covered:
Anything at all that you are having issues with!  Topics usually covered in collie puppy sessions are:

  • Puppy biting
  • Sleep isses and helping puppies to settle
  • Management - pens, crates, handling etc
  • First walks
  • Socialisation - what this should look like
  • Introductions with other pets
  • Chewing things

The sessions will focus on typical training for puppies that will help them to grow up to be loving family pets.

Adolescent or
Adult Training

These sessions are for any dog aged 6 months or over.  Every session is tailored to whatever you would like to train your dog to do (or not do!).

I can visit you at your home or we can meet via video call.  Any advice given will be followed up with a summary of everything we dicussed, with training guides and videos if needed.

Training sessions are usually for dogs with behaviour problems that can be resolved without the need for a full behaviour consultation.

Training covered:

Anything that you need help with, typcially including:

  • Walking on a loose lead
  • Improve recall
  • Calm behaviour around people or other dogs
  • Polite greetings (no jumping up)
  • Settle when out and about or at home
  • Sit, down, wait and stay
  • Trick training
  • Unruly behaviour such as chewing, counter surfing, ignoring boundaries etc

Prices

The prices are the same for both options:

  • £120 per in person visit, or £320 for three visits
  • £100 per 1-hour zoom call, or £260 for 3 calls

Home visits

Home visits are ideal, especially with puppies, as it's important to see your pet in their home environment.  However, if you live more than 40 minutes from Spalding, there may be a travel charge of up to £50.

Rachel's knowledge, experience, care and passion for dogs is fantastic. She helped me gain confidence in myself and my dog and as a result we have the most amazing relationship and bond. Thank you Rachel and keep doing what you are incredible at. :-)
